Valerie Logan

CEO & Founder, The Data Lodge| Chief Strategy Officer, Data Society Group

Founding The Data Lodge in 2019, Valerie is as committed to data literacy as it gets. With train-the-trainer bootcamps, and a peer community, she’s certifying the world’s first Data Literacy Program Leads.

In 2023, The Data Lodge was acquired as the basis of a newly formed venture, Data Society Group (DSG), aimed at fostering data and AI literacy and cultural change at scale. Valerie is excited to also serve as the Chief Strategy Officer of DSG.

Previously, Valerie was a Gartner Research VP in the CDO team where she pioneered the Data Literacy research and was awarded Gartner’s Top Thought Leadership Award (2018). Valerie has more than 30 years of experience in consulting leadership and telecommunications.

Valerie holds a B.S. in Math (SUNY College, Buffalo) and an M.S. in Applied Math (New Mexico State). She lives between the Adirondacks in Upstate NY, and Sarasota, FL with her husband Brian, and their yellow lab, Cooper, the Lodge mascot.

T. Michael Baylor

Vice President/Chief Digital & AI Officer (CDAO)

As VP, Chief Digital & AI Officer (CDAO), Mike is responsible for the innovation and delivery of advanced Digital and AI technologies across the Lockheed Martin corporation.

Mike has over 23 years’ experience serving LM in various roles both inside and outside the corporation. In his previous role as VP & Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO), Mike was responsible for the Data and Analytics
enterprise function and talent of over 300 professionals across the corporation. In this role, he spearheaded LM's Data and Analytics digital transformation, infrastructure,
development and execution across the corporation. Within LM, Mike launched a very successful commercial business comprised of machine learning and analytics technologies for government, commercial, and international customers. Prior to this, Mike led a team that pioneered innovative systems engineering approaches to help simplify and integrate the data of large complex systems for Government clients. Mike started his career with Lockheed Martin at Space Systems Company within a Flight Operations Team at NASA where he supported pre-launch, launch, and post launch satellite operations.

Mike holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University. He is also a graduate of the Lockheed Martin EDGE leadership program.

Mike lives with his wife and 2 children in Maryland.

Scott Shimp

VP of Solutions, Data Society

With 15+ years of experience in technology and consulting, Scott has led a variety of projects applying data science to help organizations achieve strategic objectives, such as managing risks and controls, detecting suspicious activity, improving business intelligence, and validating compliance actions.

As VP of Solutions at Data Society, Scott works with instructional designers and technical experts to deliver instructor-led training programs on data science and AI, as well as custom technology solutions, for government and commercial clients. Recent programs range from introductory training for executives and analysts to advanced technical training on the development and deployment of AI models.

Scott holds a BA from Princeton University and an MA in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University. He lives in Maplewood, New Jersey, with his wife and two kids.
